Advancing technology and new aesthetic treatments make
looking good not only affordable, but also easier and less painful. Dr.
Jesse D. Mitchell is pleased to have Beth Ulbrich, RN as a laser consultant
and talented technician. Beth brings a wealth of experience, including
extensive training and teaching experience for various laser and related
medical equipment. Her specialty is a combination of available treatments
including the newest in photo rejuvenation and leg veins using the VascuLight.
Photo rejuvenation treatments are full face, neck or chest treatments
using IPL (pulses of visible light) to effectively improve facial redness
and flushing as well as the visible signs of sun damage and aging. The
VascuLight is used to deliver a series of gentle pulses of light
to the skin. Specific settings are used for each treatment to maximize
improvement. A series of five or more treatments are performed at three-week
intervals producing a consistent visible improvement in the skin with
little discomfort, minimal risk, and no downtime. There is no down time
because no healing is involved. Unlike laser therapy, IPL treatments work
from the inside. Because the outer skin is completely intact, it does
not need to heal. As the light energy is sent through the skin, it generates
heat. The heat stimulates the body to form more collagen that "plumps"
out fine lines and wrinkles. With FotoFacial treatments, for the
first time, the embarrassing redness and flushing of rosacea can be dramatically
reduced and sun damaged, aging skin can be noticeably improved.
Of course, not everyone is a candidate for photo rejuvenation treatments.
Intense pulse light therapy won't work with deep wrinkles. For more
extensive treatment, Dr. Jesse D. Mitchell brings his years of expertise
with the CO2 laser for facial resurfacing. Using the new technology
of Oxy-Mist, the disruptive time for healing the redness and peeling
of laser resurfacing is dramatically reduced.

Unsightly leg veins can be a problem for millions of men and women.
This problem affects a wide range of age groups, skin type and lifestyles.
It is estimated that a large percentage of the adult population suffers
from varicose veins and spider veins. Varicose veins are the enlarged
vessels that have widened because of a weakness in the vein wall, which
then stretches and bulges. Spider veins are the small superficial purple
or red veins stretching just under the skin.
Until recently, treatment of leg veins was a lengthy and painful process
with injections or surgery. Dr. Jesse D. Mitchell provides injections,
vein surgery, and is now pleased to offer the new combined technologies
of the VascuLight system to non-invasively treat unsightly leg
veins of all types.
The VascuLight system includes two components that may be used
separately or combined to target both large varicose veins and the smaller
"spider" veins. Larger, deeper veins respond well to the laser
component. These veins respond to the precise energy level and wavelength
of the light that is used. The laser light travels through the skin
and is specifically absorbed by the blood in the vein. The light generates
heat, which coagulates (clots) the blood and destroys the function of
the vein. It leaves the outer skin completely intact, so there is no
visible damage to the skin. Over time, the vein will be absorbed by
the body and will disappear. The smaller, superficial veins require
the IPL component for successful treatment. These smaller veins are
treated using the light energy, not a laser, to destroy the vessel.
This IPL is exclusive to the VascuLight system.
Many leg veins need multiple treatments, usually over several months
before the effect is complete. Even small vessels need time to resolve.
By using both the technologies in the VascuLight system Beth Ulbrich,
RN, Dr. Mitchell's laser consultant can treat both large and small veins
to offer a complete, excellent outcome.
Are you a one of the growing number of men and women who wishes to
remove a tattoo? If so, you are not alone! In recent years, tattoo art
has become extremely popular. Occasionally, though, the "art"
is of doubtful quality or there has been a change in a person's philosophy.
There a several types of techniques that may be used to remove tattoos.
Some of the traditional methods include:
Surgical removal,
if possible
|
Lasers |
 |
Dermabrasion |
 |
Salabrasion (bleaching the pigments with a salt solution) |
 |
Overtattooing |
These traditional methods all have disadvantages. Most leave permanent
scars or, in the case of lasers, color selective. In addition, numerous
treatments are usually needed over many months.
There is a new esthetic method available for the removal of tattoos.
Developed by Wade Cheng, PhD, Vice President and Director of R&D,
Rejuvi Laboratory, this method is essentially, tattoo removal
The Rejuvi Tattoo Reversal Method consists of three steps: The first
step is basically the same as a tattoo. Using the tattoo machine, the
skin is punctured in the pigmented areas. The second step uses a proprietary
extraction paste to chemically remove the pigments. The third step is
removal of the residual paste (along with the tattoo pigments) and healing
of the skin.
Just as with the original tattooing process, the treated area will,
at first, show considerable redness that will gradually fade. The treated
skin will slowly return to its natural complexion without any visible
scarring. The Rejuvi Method usually takes a couple of months to completely
resolve.
